Hastings Pride: Reel Queers, celebrating queer women on screen
19/08/2019, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Home Live Art present ‘Reel Queers’, an evening of short films, television clips and found footage celebrating queer women* on screen over the past 50 years since the Stonewall riots.
Curated by local wife and wife team Sarah and Vanessa Farinha, the night will feature a personal selection of seminal film and TV highlights from ‘Prisoner Cell Block H’ to ‘The L Word’ along with short independent LGBTQ+ films and will include a chance to meet and discuss the films with some of the filmmakers.
This is a pay-what-you-can event, all money raised on the door will go directly to Hastings Pride.
More info on the curators:
Sarah Farinha is a BAFTA winning screenwriter who writes for film and TV. Vanessa Farinha is a creative producer, artist and co-founder of The Nothing productions.
*We believe Queer women are an awesome and diverse group of people, including cisgender and trans women who may be bisexual, lesbian, pansexual, asexual and/or gender fluid.
