Hastings town centre

SHOP, EAT, DRINK, PAMPER, EXPLORE

If you are looking for a great mix of national brands and small independent retailers then the town centre is your first stop.

From Priory Meadow shopping centre and into the main part of town around the bottom of Queen’s Road and along Wellington Place is where you will find the bigger high-street names such as M&S, Primark, H&M, Millets, and Sports Direct.

Head to the top of Queen’s Road and next to Morrisons you’ll find the quirky hotch-potch of traders who occupy The Yard at Waterworks Road. Then take a stroll back down towards the town centre and you’ll find a selection of great pubs and bars, good quality barbers and hairdressers, and a range of shops selling anything from high-end kitchenware to interesting antiques.

Don’t forget to pop into St Andrew’s Market, and be sure to find a few of the hidden-gem pubs and bars just off the main road, such as The Prince Albert and Pissaros…and of course the Victorian covered shopping precinct known as Queens Arcade (the birthplace of TV).

Robertson Street is the town centre’s main area for bars and nightclubs, including the infamous ‘Crypt’ venue and many others.

It’s also got a range of great little shops, and leads you up to Trinity Street and Claremont – and from there on to the pier and the White Rock Theatre, where along the way you’ll find even more independent stores.
