Bank Holiday Monday information

Bike1066

For over four decades, thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts have visited Hastings on the May Day bank holiday for Bike1066. Every year it gets bigger and better, and this year we are supporting the event with the installation of a large screen in the town centre (Wellington Place), which will be streaming live bike racing throughout the day.

In addition to the large screen, we will also be providing a free climbing wall outside Priory Meadow Shopping Centre. Climb for free between 9am & 5pm.
(Min weight 23kg – Max weight 114kg)

The town is expected to be hugely busy, with Pier Jam and Jack in the Green also taking place on the same day. It is recommended that you plan your travel in advance, and arrive early. Here is everything you need to know:

Road closures:
All Saints Street – 10am – 10:30am
The Bourne – 10:30am – 10:40am
High Street – 10:30am – 12pm
Croft Road – 12pm – 1pm
Collier Road – most of the day

Parking will be in high demand, and it is recommended that drivers head to Priory Meadow car park or Priory Street car park early. Our website has a list of all town centre car parks, which won’t be affected by the road closures.

Stagecoach Buses has released information about their May Day services here.

There will be engineering works on train lines across the South East. National Rail have put together a helpful guide here. Please check train times and availability before you travel.
