Tackling the flytippers

Since starting on the job late last year your business ambassador, Peter, has reported and overseen the removal of well over 100 flytips. These have ranged from a few black bags or a rogue Christmas tree to large quantities of household or builders waste.

Mixed in with this Peter has also found evidence of trade waste from nearby businesses – so we want to remind everyone that they do need to take responsibility for ensuring their business waste is properly disposed of.

Not only does rubbish left on the street look unsightly and puts people off from visiting the area and spending money – it is also an offence, and if identified the culprits could be faced with a stiff fine from the council.
