@_.reliquary._ A large Compton Pottery Terracotta ‘Scroll’ Pot complete with signature scroll handles and Compton stamps.
Designed by Mary Seton and Archibald Knox in the early 20th century.
The Compton Potters Art Guild was established by Mary Seton Watts (wife of the prominent Victorian artist G.F.Watts) at Compton, Surrey in 1904 as part of the Arts and Crafts movement. Much of her output was made for and retailed at Liberty & Co. of London.
